I tried this for a swap and fell in love with the outcome so decided to make some more. They're mainly decorative but you can technically eat off them too...Here area few of my favorites:

these are fantastic!
id love to decor my own kitchen ware. imagine bowls that say "ah we meet again" at the bottom =D
how are u able to eat off them? the ones of V and Joker seem sprayed on?

Exactly. I paint the back and then seal it with something.

I attempted a bowl of sorts but wasn't too please with the outcome....i used the smallest stencil I had for th bottom. If something was written along the side it would look much better but I can not for the life of me paint nice handwriting...

oh they are clear duhhh.
wel you could write on the bottom of a wider bowl. i have shallow ones that have a wide base. i could stencil a babys face on them!
well u get the idea. and no  i htink the bowl is wonderful, the whole set is truly beautiful

What are you using to seal? I did something similar (gold leaf and decoupage) on a stemmed glass and sealed it with resin which has worked great, but was a pain in the butt and kind of expensive.

I got this project from The Big Ass Book Of Crafts, it was Minwax or something...I can't remember off the top of my head, I'm sorry. It was a spray seal.
