Sorry for bumping this so far up but I followed your tutorial and wanted to show off the results. Cheesy

This is my first ever dress, I've never made clothing before and I got a sewing machine and decided to leap in the deep end. I think it turned out pretty Cheesy

The belt is an old one of mine I forgot to take pictures without the belt... Embarrassed

and the back

I decided to use a ribbon instead of button to keep the halter straps fastened and its waaaay too short so I wear it with leggings or maybe tights in the summer, never without, I'd be arrested...now I know why my mum calls tiny mini skirts "Good morning Judge"....sorry I'm rambling. I'll stop now.

Thanks for the great tutorial I really had so much fun XD

Athena: Today I was beat in a weaving contest by a mortal, so I threw a little bit of a hissy fit at her, so she hung herself...long story short she's a spider and everyone thinks I'm a bitch. FML

I love it, but I think I am too tall to make it a dress for myself. Maybe I will just make the same as a tunic top

For the wrinkliness, you could line the front with another fabric, probably a pain or iron in fusible interfacing...the really lightweight kind. Not sure how this would feel next to your skin, so make sure to watch for the scratchiness level of the interfacing good side when you buy it.

Or just do it with a slightly stiffer shirt fabric. You might lose some of the drapiness/shape-lyness of the dress though.

Love your dress.

So awesome, gonna try this!  Re: wrinkles, I think the problem is a lot of these men's shirts are meant to be dry cleaned with lotsa starch.  Might be worth trying to get a creation dry cleaned if the wrinkliness bugs you, and ask for lotsa starch!  Just my two cents.
