so my inspiration was this dress on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22944370, and for the record, i really believe in supporting independent craftsters such as this talented lady, but i am currently unemployed and can't afford this sort of thing.
so i made this dress:

out of this shirt:

i had to double the number of buttons cause the stress on the individual buttons made it super wrinkly. i just used the extra buttons and the ones from the cuff and the neck. i sewed some of the stiff material from the cuff along the inside of the front to make it a little less wrinkly, but it is very lightweight fabric and thus still quite wrinkly- i'd love to hear suggestions about how to fix that!
i gathered the back with a little bit of scavenged elastic- oh, here's the back:

you can't really see, but the neck strap buttons in the back- i just cut the buttons off the cuff and sewed it to the strap, cause i hate sewing buttons.

much shorter than the original, but that's as long as the shirt was, and i'm lazy. anyway. you like?

thanks! i didn't actually leave the collar- i cut it off, cut it in half, and then attached those pieces to the top of the dress- the seam is hidden underneath where the collar folds over. i might put up some half-assed drawings in a bit.
