I realize the millennium was  9+ years ago, and that xst has been eclipsed by embroidery in popularity, but I still like this even now (and i just found the pic again yesterday). Millennium samplers were everywhere, but I wanted one that included the things I thought were important.

It was partially based on a sampler that was for sale at the time, but I designed the contests of many of the squares, as well as the blue bit in the centre. It took me months, but that was mostly to decide what should be included. I am a huge Anglophile, so many of the selections are fairly Anglocentric.

This is really neat! I never thought of something like that, but it's very cool. I also like that you didn't do just cheerful things, but realistic things. Smiley

Great job!  I love the particular moments you chose for your sampler.  I really LOVE seeing creative cross stitch too, even if it embroidery is more popular.

The fonts in the middle were great choices- they are eye catching and well laid out.  I love the way you put Roswell on the left bottom corner and Apollo 11 on the right.  Excellent job!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

It's 9 years ago now, but I'm pretty sure that was not intentional.

This is lovely! I'm glad you re-discovered the picture. This could totally be an heirloom piece, you should keep it for your kids.
