Here are some bags that I made! Cheesy  All fabrics are from the bargain bin.

This one is Simplicity 2685 B.  More about that project here.

Last night I sewed Rae's Buttercup Bag.  It's a lovely pattern, easy to make and follow.  Rae has directions and patterns on her website, but if you want to make the bag to sell, please purchase the pattern and licensing!

I wanted to sew myself a bag from these fabrics I found in the scrap bin, and apparently, this was the bag I was to make!  (I am also such a sucker for toile.  I luuuuurve it!)

(I know, I know, the pattern doesn't match up, but I was okay with it this time!)

Thank you for looking!

i read your blog about the first bag...  i know exactly what you mean about the instructions for this bag!!  i am teaching my friend how to sew, and she wanted me to teach her to read patterns.  She chose this pattern as her first... and needless to say she doesnt have a very good first impression of patterns.  Here I am trying to explain it to her and the instructions are very unclear and they even had mistakes in them.  We were bothing swearing at that pattern by the end of it...lol.  But it does make a very cute bag and i love the fabric you used.  and i agree that the handles need more support... she reinforced hers too.

here's how hers turned out:

Great use of toile. And such a pretty one too! I never see more than one toile pattern at Joannes, though I have sewed in it over and over so that doesn't stop me!

I am also a big fan of the buttercup purse, have made several and have 3 cut out and in different stages right now. I love having e a different purse to go with every top - though am not *quite* there yet.

Thank you, Seraphina_de_Sangre!

aimee_ant123 - Okay, so it isn't just me!  Grin  I read over the directions over and over again, and when I was actually following them, I got so confused!  I was ready to throw out the instructions and just sew, but I'm big on following directions, at least, for the first time.  You know, there's actually a zipper compartment for the bag?  The pattern makes no mention of it!  It wasn't until later did I realize it.  (And I'm okay with it because I rarely ever put stuff into pockets or zippered compartments.)  Your friend made a great looking bag, though!  I love the blue with the chocolate, and the buttons are really fabulous!

Hi, MegRoseSews!  The toile was from the Hobby Lobby bargain bin. Cheesy  The upholstery section has a lot of toile in case you want to see if they have different toile patterns!  I know what you mean about the Buttercup Bag -- they're so easy to make, and you can make one to complement what you're wearing...
