I feel naughty and evil saying this....  But since Krafty_Karasu and I asked to be partners, and were approved....  I've already started crafting!
I might have even be finished by now if I wasn't awaiting some supplies that I ordered.  Yay Krafty!

Since you are all jewelry makers, I thought I'd let you guys know...   I'm doing a Round 2 of the Bead Soup Swap.  If anyone is interested in swapping out some beads and reinvigorating your stash, you can find us here:  Bead Soup Swap - Round 2

So when do we find out who our partners are?  Also, a quick question about the size swap part.  I have some nicer gemstone, how do you count that if you use them.  I still have alot of glass gems, but I've started purchasing actual natural gems to such as topaz, amethests and citrines.  I also have different types of metal from brass to 14k gold, how should these be calculated?
Thanks!!

hmm I'm wondering this too...I'm sort of a newbie at jewelry making and I'm actually a bit worried about using expensive gems and metals (comparatively to the usual silver tone wires, copper, glass beads, etc that I've played a bit with) in case I screw up with them.  I also use stuff like yarn, which would probably not cost as much in materials...so while the effort and time put into something may be the same, the value in materials might not be.  Do you just determine how much you're willing to spend with your partner when you get them?

It is my first time swap too I am working on trying new things every day. I like the idea of swapping what we made for something made for us.

I always work with what i think my partner will like and not really think about the cost, and so long as you do that i'm sure whoever receives it will be happy  Smiley

Usually points are more about time spent than money.  I would think a pair of simple earrings is one point, no matter what you used.  I guess you would just decide what materials you use by how much money you would like to spend for your partner.  That's just the way I look at it.  I've spent a lot making a small thing and been able to make something large for very little.
