This is my own little version of a Nanibird birdie shaped goodie box. Complete with a little door in the back for adding all matter of treats. I included a ribbon tie that sits neatly on the top of the head.

This is what you need to know:

-Thicker paper does work best.

-If cutting by hand, cut long strips first and then cut the notches.

-I used a craft knife to cut the wings. Push them out after cutting.

-Score all of the dashed lines before folding using a stylus.

-Punch holes for the ribbon using a medium sized punch.

-Assemble from the top of the head down, both sides at a time.

-I used adhesive tape runner for assembly. There is no way on earth I would use glue or anything resembling glue for this type of project. Are you insane?Huh

-Finish with additional paper for eyes and beak, although this project doesn't require it.

As you can see, given the right papers and details, it's perfectly good for a boy as well. I imagine you could even make them look scary if you want, but I went for goofy, as usual. I wouldn't want to make 100 of them, but I could see making 20, if required.

How cute! I have a CD of shaped box patterns, but I don't think it has any birds on it, so thanks for sharing this!
