I was playing around with some gift ideas for some of the women in my family for the holidays, and I decided to throw together a sugar scrub! So sweet, so simple, and SO much cheaper than you can get at Bath and Body Works!

The blue one is eucalyptus and the orange-ish one is mango smoothie. Yum!

UPDATE!!!

I made a new one!

As you can (probably) tell by the label, this one is coconut cream... complete with poorly drawn coconut!

Scrubalicious!!!

I kind of threw it together myself. It's really simple, just sugar, mineral oil, soap colorant, and fragrance. I have perused the 'net and found some that call for organic sugar and raw cocoa butter, but I just cobbled mine together out of simple, dirt cheap ingredients and they work just fine! The most expensive thing was the fragrance oils, but they go a really long way, so the cost in the long run isn't bad. I advise putting the oil, color, and fragrance in first, then adding the sugar so you don't end up with color lumps.

I have been wanting to do this forever. Something about coloring it makes me feel that i am going to end up dyeing myself and or my bathtub.

But these would be perfect for christmas gifts.

Yes. I used liquid soap colorant. Just a few drops go a really long way.

You don't add the sugar scrub to your bath like bath salts. You just rub it on your skin and wash it off. I usually just use it on my hands because in my line of work (preschool teacher) I wash my hands about a million times a day and it leaves them very rough and dry. This stuff takes off the dead skin, moisturizes, and doesn't burn like salt. Bath and Body Works makes a salt scrub too that is pretty much the same as the sugar scrub, except made with salt. It burns like blue blazes if you have cuts or sores on your skin though, so I prefer the sugar scrub.
