My mother in law asked me to make a baby hat for a girl she works with who is having their first baby really soon.  they are sure it's a girl.
I hope they are right or I'll be making another baby hat this weekend.

What do you think?

That's really beautiful. The embroidery and flowers are divine. I'm sure that will be well loved and used all the time. How did you get your stitching to look so neat?

That is one gorgeous little hat!
It will make the little girl (let's hope it IS a girl) look even more cute.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Beautiful! I love the flowers, such a sweet addition.

This is a work of fiction.  All the characters in it, human and otherwise, are imaginary, excepting only certain of the fairy folk, whom it might be unwise to offend by casting doubts on their existence.  Or lack thereof.~Neil Gaiman

I don't have an official pattern made up but here's the gist

I started out with 6 sc in a magic circle and 2 strands of yarn on this hat.
at about row 5 of increase rows I did a full row of sc then did another 2 or 3 increase rows and another sc row until I had the size around that I wanted.
then sc until you have the height you want.  then flare out the bottom with inc st followed by sc.   I don't recall how many rows I did for the brim of the hat.
after that I just made flowers, a braided band and embroidered the swirl.

sorry I don't have a better tut.
I don't have the hat anymore so I can't have a closer look at it other than the couple pictures I took.
I hope this post of foggy mental notes will be useful

poinsongirl ~ congrats on the twins
