Holy cow, that's a lot of corn! I remember having a similar experience with green beans as a kid.. my brother and I would always joke about eating green bean pancakes and muffins for breakfast (though thankfully, it never got to that point!)

I've been knitting sushi all afternoon and I'm putting the finishing touches on my IYP package.. Hopefully I can send out early this week since the end of the week will be quite hectic. Smiley

I like to can up enough of one thing to last us 2 years.  But we eat so much corn here that this will only last a year.  Last year's green beans are holding out and we should have enough until next year.  The applesauce, peaches and pears from last year probably won't make it to Christmas.  The apples should be ready as soon as I get the salsa, tomatoe juice, pasta sauce & stewed tomatoes finished, so I'll put up more applesauce.  Peaches & pears take a long time to skin & cut.

I don't mind canning the high acidic or sweetened items.  My canner can hold 17 quarts at a time.  The pressure canner holds only 9 pints.

Now all I can think of is some terrible joke about you being up to your ears in corn, wawa.   Lips sealed

This weekend, I've been working on 2 skirts, finishing off quilt squares for a swap, and pieced placemats for this swap.  I'm undecided on if I'll keep the skirts or put them in my shop.  Smiley

Would anyone be interested in a circle patchwork twirly skirt?  I have one that is navy/white and the other that is black/white.  They're about 24" long, and a plus size.  They'll be drawstring, so they're kinda flexible on the sizing, but I wouldn't recommend them for a size 4 or anything.  Smiley

If I can get my serger to do what sewknitter said it can do on the gathering, I'll be set!  I've been having issues with the thread breaking today for some reason, though, and DH is about ready to use it for target practice.  Luckily, I already serged the edges of the placemat piece strips.

Sorry I have been MIA.  I am busy planning the wedding, knitting the shawl and bridal sachet and making the cake topper.  I am finally finished the wedding crafting/knitting.

Also if there is something you like, please claim them now.  The wedding is on 9/9/09.  So I will be closing up shop for the month on Tue PM and won't be open again until Oct.  I am not sure what will be in the shop in Oct.  Smiley
