Found this bowl in the thrift store for $1.25, and liked the shape of it. So of course I had to bring it home and mosaic something on it.  Wink

Bowl is 14 inches across, used all scrap stained glass I've accumulated in a 5 gallon bucket, and some glitter under the glass for sparkle in the night sky.

Moon Valley:
Drew in the lines for the hills, and began to lay in my tesserae.

All glass in place, and ready to grout.

Thanks for looking  Smiley And any comments suggestions or questions are always welcome!

Once again you have done something totally amazing.  I like how you used the flat marble for the moon.  Great work.

Beautiful!  Absolutely beautiful.   Cheesy   I am completely envious of your mosaic skills.  Everything is so tidy and neatly done.  Your spacing looks so consistent and almost measured out.

I so admire your work and reference it on a regular basis.

Thanks again for sharing and inspiring!

Oh your welcome!  Truly, I was working on a piece the other day and had to run to the computer to look at one of your peices to see how you laid the tesserea. (It was your lamp project.)  Wink

Hey, I was just re-admiring this piece.  I've got a couple of questions....Did you put a little glitter in the grout too? It sorta looks like it in the pictures....If you did, that's uber genuis...  The glass that is the night sky must be clear but textured so you can see the color and glitter.  Amazing!

Last question....what do you seal your work with?  I used polyurethane on a project earlier this year and it flaked off. The project is a stepping stone grouted with white grout and I wanted to keep the grout clean as the piece is in my flower bed.
I think you mentioned once before that you used polyurethane too....(That had to be where I got the idea)... But I just used regular poly that used on like wooden projects.  That the wrong kind?  And besides the poly turned my grout a little yellow.  Not bad, but polyurethane yellowed.  Ya know?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me! Smiley
