Sewing Classes in the Westchester County area?

Hello there -
I would like to find a place for very basic sewing.  My Beloved Niece (aged 11) wants to be a fashion designer an go to FIT but has never learnt to sew.   I want to relearn since my last lessons were in 8th grade.

Do any of you have suggestions for sewing lessons in the Westchester County, NY area (Croton-on-Hudsm, Tarrytown, Whiteplains -ish) ?
Someone that is a Craftster/Sewing/Blogger/Etsy type that's in our area and would be  interested in giving a few lessons could be a cool option too.
The things in Brooklyn and Manhattan  sound great but I think that the commute is a bit too much for a girl her age.
