Finally, now I can start on my poppet house. I bought these two chairs for $6.40, it was all I had in my pocket. They rotate and lean back, and are so comfortable as my craft chair.

Here is the before and after

Here is a closeup of the detail of the front, which was made from the back of a top, the lace coming off the sleeves. The seat from a crazy quilt parsons chair cover.

Here is the back fabric, made out of the skirt part of a dress my mother gave me.

I would have posted in reconstructed, but I cannot find the in progress shots.
Best bet is they are on the other computer. LOL

OK so no love here. There was so much sweat involved, I expected a little more love. At least my family loves it. OK, rant over.

What a creative idea! I need a chair for my sewing table that adjusts so I don't kill my back every time I'm working on a project. I just hate to buy a plain black chair though. I never thought to buy an inexpensive chair that's comfy and then make it fabulous like you've done with yours. Great job! Thank you for the inspiration.

Thanks for the love. I see these chairs free on craigslist all the time or you could try freecycle. These were from a yard sale. This doesn't go up and down, but since it was a dining room chair (go figure) It sits are the right height for my craft table, which is a dining room table. Now I get to do the other one.

I love what you did that is so cool! I never would have thought about using fabric from clothes. What are you going to do with the other one?

I missed this thread...soo many threads!

I love the seat and how you used fabrics with history to them. Looks a lot more comfortable than my wooden, non-leanback-able chairs

He he, I just directed you over here and you beat me to it. I am sitting in it now and loving it. Unfortunately, so do the cats.
