So a few months ago I saw Xanadu for the first time.  So when my friend recently asked if I would rollerblade with him on our beach trip, Xanadu immediately popped into my head.
I found a $10 pair of rollerblades in my size at Goodwill, and immediately became obsessed with the idea of painting them a strikingly shiny Xanadu disco gold.

Well, since I was short on time my awesome boyfriend spray-painted them for me. He did a few coats of a flat gold, because he said that it adhered to the plastic better, and did one final coat of the high shine gold.
I painted the straps with hot pink nail polish, and mod-podged some pink poster paper onto the 'tongue' of the bootie that goes inside the skate. I hope to replace the straps and bootie at some point.

I've never rollerbladed before, and I have to admit that the moment I first stood up with the skates on, I fell flat on my butt, breaking the door to the battery compartment on my camera. LOL. It was easily fixed, and I have to say that I did learn to rollerblade pretty quickly- within the first 15 mins I had the skates on!

ps- I wasn't sure where to post this, so if you know of a better place, please suggest.

I love rollerskates of any sprt and have customed my Bauer pair several times over.

Great job.  Great Exercise too!
