So Here is my version of the record purse. I made it for my little sisters 19th birthday. And she loved it! To quote her "It's FREAKIN AWESOME!" and "It's my new favorite purse!" She loves music and records, and she loves purses too, so I knew she would love it. I had to do the handles differently than the tute because I had tons of trouble with the handles, so luckily I had grabbed this from the remnant bin at Joann's. It's polyester with stitching and little black sequins.

On to the pics!

I love the fabric and since the the music notes in the fabric are rainbow colored I used rainbow colored thread to stitch it all together.

Very nice! I've been wanting to make one, but too hesitant to do it. I like the way your looks.  Smiley

I love it! I have been wanting to make one, but I need records, and some fabric I like.

Thanks! Records at our Goodwill here are $1 a piece, and you only need a 1/4 yard of the outside fabric, and 1/2 yard of the lining fabric, plus whatever you decide to use for the handle and some key rings. Super cheap but everyone loves them!

Beautiful!  I really love the shape of it and how the rainbow colored thread goes so good with the music note fabric.  How did you cut the record and punch the holes?

Thanks!

I cut the records with a box cutter and my rotary cutting mat and ruler. And I drilled the holes with a battery operated dremel and a tiny little drill bit. I tried using a heated paper clip, but it was a long process, made a mess and the smell of burning vinyl gave me a rager of a headache.
I have been making them like crazy ever since because now everyone and their mothers want one now!
