I'm making a toy for a friend of one of her creations, and I want it to have jointed arms & legs. it's fairly small so I'm just putting buttons in the limbs to use as an "anchor" for thread to attach them. the material is felt.

but I'm having a helluva time getting the !&*(@)in' limbs attached tightly enough!! I've tied & retied them on about 3 or 4 times now. I'm squeezing the hips as hard as I can and pulling as tightly as I can on the leg-threads, and they fight tightly against the body.... then I go to knot them and they are loose and floppy suddenly.

to entice you to help, here's a picture:

she still needs arms, eyes and ears!

First of all, that is so awesome!  Cheesy Love your dinosaur! Now the useful stuff.  Wink If you were to wax your thread (beeswax...can be found in most fabric stores) or use waxed dental floss, the wax sort of sticks to itself, allowing you to keep the tension that you want. (The Poppet-makers recommend it for jointing.) Hope that helps.
