Yay costume-a-long!

I'm getting in on this a bit late, but I only found out yesterday that I've got to go to a Halloween party. First time in years I'll be dressing up, and since it's already so close I had to come up with something relatively simple.

I decided on Amy from Futurama. For those of you who don't know:

Pretty simple, right? Not so much. I figured I'd pick up a pink sweatsuit,  a wig and some boots and I'd be done. Apparently matching pink sweatsuits don't exist around here. I found an unhooded, non-zippered, un-cropped pink sweatshirt that's slightly darker in shade to the capri sweats I found. Now I've got to crop it, hood it, zip it, and fade it, plus figure out what to do about a raygun.

Oh, did I not mention I have no sewing machine and my sewing skills are shoddy at best anyway? Yeah. We'll see what happens.

Guess  I'd better get started. I'll update with pics of my progress (or lack thereof) as I go along. Wish me luck?

Hey! Just saw your post harledoescrafts, and thought i would pop in to offer a suggestion about the ray gun! The dollar store has all kinds plastic guns like that, and you could just attach a straw with a disc of cardboard at the end..... Good luck!

I've never seen one at dollar stores around here, but I'll definitely keep an eye out! Thanks for the suggestion  Smiley

evilness! so,  yesterday we went to a different dollar store just 'cause my mom needed some lined paper, and while browsing the sock/socking/mitten area (u know what i mean) i found knee high pink and black socks! after i bought the stockings! but i will use the stockings because i modded the costume to fit the stockings, and the KN socks wouldn't work with this, and the color wasn't as neon and bright. Also, if knee high socks aren't the exact right size, they fall off!

Harledoescrafts: Cool costume idea... good luck with the recons though. (I used to have to do clothing "edits" without sewing machine or any decent hand sewing skills - fabric adhesives were my best friend for Halloween costumes!)

Phew! And... Baron Samedi:(http://oyebilly.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/baron_samedi_by_domigorgon.jpg)
- top hat   BOUGHT
- Mardi Gras beads OWN
- black pants  OWN

Hey, had a change of name, I posted the Victorian stuff. I'm almost finished, just an apron to go and I shall be a Zombie Victorian.

I do think it is missing something...any suggestions, comments or criticism are always helpful. Cheers

Zombie Victorian sounds cool, and your costume is looking pretty good! Are you going to (eep) batter it up a bit to get that just-rose-from-the-grave look? And missing something... hm. Well if you're adding an apron. I suppose there could be a little jacket of some sort? Or... frilly umbrella? Hat?
