While cruising different websites, I came across a fun calendar.  The original is made of fabric and used velcro on the labels.  It also had machine embroidered pictures and wording.  It shows the day, year, month, season, weather, holiday, event... I knew I wanted something like this but would never be able to recreate it in that medium.

My brother is a sheel metal worker, he took a sheet of metal and crimped the ends.  Instant magnetic board!  To attach to the fridge, I used extra 3M removable stickers that are for the hooks you can add and take off the walls.  Very strong!  I already had card stock and adhesive backed magnets so the cost was nothing.  I love it and it covers up the crappy beige fridge underneath, at least the upper half!  My son's alphabet magnets cover the lower half!  Tongue Wink

I still need to add more decorative elements.  I used ribbon with the magnet strips on back to frame it out, good enough for the time being.  Wink

(Kind of hard to take a picture of a mirror-like surface!)

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for looking!!!!!!  Cheesy

What an awesome idea!  Great way to get the kids interested/knowledgeable about things other than "today is a school day/a weekend" etc.  I love it!

Thank you!

My son is only 3 but he gets the concept.  Saturday was my nephew's 1st birthday and he knew to put the cake on as the event!

This is a great idea.  It took me a minute to figure out how you were keeping track, but it's a great way to do things.  Nice job.
