Cute skull top for daughter

I made this top for my 8-year-old. I didn't use a pattern. Let's just say it was a learning experience.
I underestimated the stretchiness of the jersey when I was sewing the neckline so it was a bit pucker-y. I decided the best way to deal with that was to gather it at the bottom of the V-neck and then disguise it with the guitar charm. But we can pretend that was the plan all along;)

She loves the top though. She said she wants to keep it forever, even when she's a grownup, lol.
The fabric is a light gray jersey printed with little skulls-and-crossbones with pink bows on their heads. I thought it was adorable.

Thanks guys:) I was fairly happy that it turned out wearable. It fits like a glove too. Now my younger daughter wants a similar top made form the same print on baby blue jersey. I'll have to see how that goes.

Where did you find the fabric?  I love girly skull prints!  You did a great job on the shirt.  It looks like it fits perfectly!

I started shopping for soft cute jersey online because all I could find near me was solid colors. This one I found on ebay. It was pretty cheap too!

Actually she has a great idea. You can make it into a sweet pillow when she outgrows it. You just sew shut the neck, arms and bottom. Stuff and it stays to hold memories. She might even end up taking it along to college.

My daughter likes the idea of turning it into a pillow later. And so do I:) Then my work won't be tossed into storage when she can't wear it anymore!
