I would really love to host a small craft group!

Would anyone be interested? Please reply here or PM me!

I live almost right in the middle of Atlanta with easy access from 3 major interstates. I have two roommates, but we have a good deal of space. Would be really excited to have some crafty folks over Smiley

hey ma rut!  I would love love love to join.  I live right off 75 in marietta, near 575.  So you aren't too far.  Let me know if you get enough people.  I craft all by my lonesome, so it would be awesome to meet some fellow crafters in person.

Hey, I'll be moving to ATL in a few weeks. I'd love to meet some crafty people! I could also potentially host at (what will hopefully be) my place in Decatur.

I live in Mableton along with Koalascout, and Kevsbabe lives in Marietta.  I have seen a few others here in GA, Powder Springs and Athens.

The 3 of us live near the East/West Connector and Austell Road.

Maybe one day we all can get together.  Each hosting a meet and greet in their town.

That would be awesome! Can you direct them to this thread?

Yeah, I'm totally up to rotating the location. I offered up my place because I didn't want to suggest a craft group without having a place to host it Cheesy

Awesome Smiley Would one of you guys want to host the first one? It seems like the majority live in the Cobb County area.

And the next question, what day would everyone prefer? Please everyone list your availability if you have a minute Smiley

My availability: If it's on a weeknight and outside the perimeter, I probably couldn't make it until about 8PM, which later is fine for me because I'm a night owl but I understand that most people aren't Cheesy I might be available some weekends, especially Saturday/Sunday afternoons. I'm not available this weekend though.

Thursdays are definintely a no for me.  Weekends would probably be better--afternoons would be awesome.  ALso, I'm getting ready to start a girl scout daisy troop, and right now it looks like we will be meeting on mondays.  I can't host right now, my house is too messy Tongue, but perhaps in the future if there aren't too many of us. But I have 4 kids, so I'd need to get rid of them and the husband for the night Grin. My husband has a weird schedule of random things to do through oct, so I'll have to see what  is best for everyone else and then check with him.  I can't do anything next weekend cause he will be out of town.

I will check the Mableton House too. These are just ideas.

I do not mind hosting, if you do not mind guinea pigs, husband and kids...LOL.

We did okay.  Parts of my neighborhood flooded, but we are on the higher ground.  I just got a little water in my basement, but it was on concrete, so no damage.  My problem is that thousands of ants have invaded my dining room and kitchen.  and my car.  I spent all day yesterday vacuuming them up, and I am on my way to do some more.  Plus I'm in Cobb COunty, so schools are still closed.  My kids think it's great, but I am ready for them to go back to school.

I hope all you guys are okay.

I live near Sweetwater and they closed Thorton Road, Austell Road, Clay Road, and Flint Hill on Monday night.  I am luck I live near Austell and EastWest Connector...Lowes was out of shop vacs, sump pumps....go thing I only needed blocks....to keep things drier.

I to live on a hill so that helped some, we had water in crawl space and my downstairs.  But have learned when it rains like this to be prepared, everything of importance off floor or upstairs.  We have classes only cause I home school grandson.  Try put some cinnamon down...they do not like to cross it, on/around windows and doors. May work for cars too....smell not that bad either.

I hope everyone else is dry and safe.....now to get ready for the next rain fall supose to be coming our way from Texas and East coast.

Yeah my dad lives on Thornton Rd in Lithia Springs... Thornton road is an 8-ft deep river right now! I've missed school and work for the past 3 days because I-20 is impassable! Thankfully we didnt lose power or water, and no water got in our house... we're very lucky! Almost all my friends had flooded basements and lost power/water.  I hope everyone is safe!!

What a coincidence! I worked on Thorton Road for a couple of years when I first graduated college Smiley It was pretty sad the last time it flooded there, seems like an entire car dealership was under water Embarrassed

I'm glad to see new interest! As I said before, my place is always open. We have a good bit of space and no kids Cheesy I live right on I-20 close to where 75/85 crosses it.

Hey racky! Not that I know of, so far. Maybe I should relabel this as the Cobb County Craft Group as that seems to be where all the interest is coming from Smiley

I am in South Fulton and would love to be part of a craft group!  Especially if someone could help me learn to crochet and sew.  Maybe we could meet once a month, like the second or third Saturday of the month.  I dont have a place that we can use, but I do know that Cobb County Government has meeting rooms that they rent out for like $10 a day.  Maybe we can rent a room there since most everyone is in Cobb.  I think this would be great to start after the first of the year.

I am in.

I think that is a great idea...especially starting in the new year.  I had thought about seeing if we could get a room in a library or  somewhere.  I would still love to get together with everyone to have some crafty fun.

Hey guys!  I live in Dallas, work in Cobb & would be interested in the craft group too... Is it limited to a certain type of craft, or does anything go? The only type of craft group that I've been to before is a Creative Memories scrapbook group.  I'm kinda new to the whole world of meeting other people through crafts!

A meeting place in Marietta / Cobb would be great!

Hey everyone, I am glad to see there is more interest.  I would still love to meet with some other crafters, too.

I don't think we were going to limit it, I think it was just a bring whatever you are working on.  We haven't actually met yet.  Maybe I will try to look into getting us a space, since there has been more interest.  My house is out, but we should be able to find a room somewhere.
