Cool!  Thanks for all the great feedback.  I feel more confident in wearing it just the way I made it!  Thanks so much for all the great encouragement!

I would definitely leave it as is. I love the beads, AND the fact that in the winter when you're wearing a coat and don't have a need for a shrug, you can remove the pins and use it as a scarf! Now I wanna make one for myself! Smiley

It looks great, and quite unique. You can be sure no one else has a garment like this!

What stitch pattern did you use?

Wear it proudly! It's beautiful. When I first started knitting I made about 10 scarves that I would never wear in public. Now I wear everything I make, I figure I worked hard on it and knits are made to be worn Smiley

i just logged in so I can hit the "this rocks" button.  It's awesome, where did you get the pattern? (if you used one)

Thanks for all the awesome comments!  I'm headed to the movies today, where I always freeze, and now I think I'll take this with me.

I searched and searched my patterns and finally found which one I used for this.  Luckily, it was a free pattern from Lionbrand.  I'm sure it can be found by searching "Lace poncho" at their website.  I'm not big on ponchos, especially ones that create a nice little point that seems to hang "right there."  But I loved the look of the chunky lace so I figured I would finish it into a shrug instead.  It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure I followed the pattern as is but then just folded it lengthwise to turn it into a shrug, and of course instead of sewing it up I used the beads and large safety pins.  Hope that helps!

And thanks again for the very encouraging feedback!  I just might make another one in a different color now!

DEFINITELY WEAR IT! I've never seen that particular style b4...I think I'm gonna go figure out how to sew one. (IDK how to knit or crochet yet, gotta learn now!)

Just wanted to second the comments about it looking like something you would buy in an expensive boutique. LOOKS AWESOME & EXPENSIVE! You will get people stopping you asking you where you bought it!
