I AM NOT WORTHY.  I actually created an account so I could respond to this... (not that the site itself is not awesome, but I am more of a reader/voyeur than a person who shares).  Wow, brilliant, beautiful and yes, I am coveting your work.  I can barely tie my shoelaces - you and your boyfriend are to be applauded and have my utmost respect and I am building a shrine unto you both.  Please share photos of the upcoming display.  I adore dolls with big eyes, fashion, amazing crafts(women)ship, Blythe/Pullip/dolls from the sixties... you had me at hello.  I wish I could rock one of these at Burning Man.  I can only imagine the response there Smiley  Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!  My migraine-filled day just got a little better.  I am saving the pics to my laptop so I can show everyone and direct them to your site and the video.  Keep up the amazing work - do not doubt yourself ever!  Best wishes and thank you for sharing!

(*in case my enthusiasm is unnoticed, I think your work, your dedication, and your talent is the bees knees.  I can only imagine some of the stumbling blocks and frustration and I give you and your boyfriend even more kudos for pressing on and creating something so inspiring).

Your Fan in Las Vegas,

Miss Miranda Glamour

That is quite possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever said about anything we've made. It makes us feel all warm and squishy inside. Thank you so very very much from the bottom of our hearts. You are awesome and we love you. Can you hit 'this rocks' about a comment?

We made a plaster buck and vacuum formed the eyes. We painted the white of the eyes but left the irises clear. The inside flat bit of the eye is a piece of 3mm ply with mylar (plastic mirror paper) cut and intricately folded, then painted with colorine, a type of paint used for painting glass. That probably sounds like a whole bunch of garble doesn't it? It's hard to explain it without going into great detail! Thanks for your kind words!

Oddly enough I understood all of that  Grin  Great work for puzzling it all out and coming up with such an amazing way to create the final peice.

Did you have the opportunity to use an actual Vac Fromer - or did you do it some other way? One day I am going to own a vac former..somehow :p
