A revamped piece of cross stitch (unfortunately I can't remember the designer - it was bought at elegantstitch.com years ago) that used to be in my eldest son's bedroom. He had a space theme and fitted in nicely - until he grew out of it and had a skateboard one instead LOL!
I was making a bag for a librarian degree student - she needed something sturdy enough to carry her study books and a little knitting project around in. She is also MAD about the Twilight book series - so my sad little moon picture had a new home! The tote is made from old upholstery fabric lined with very fancy medieval style silky fabric (was trying to get a gothic look!) and the picture was machine stitched on.

Is the moon patterned or is it just the picture? I looks really pretty. I think I may have to keep your work in mind for Christmas gift inspiration.

the moon part is made up of 2 different coloured squares. The thread is hand dyed (weeks dye works I think it was) so has a variagated effect as well. I wish I had a better close up of the embroidery but it is with it's new owner in the USA now!
