After I finished a monster project I just wanted to stitch but not on anything heavy.  So here is my interpretation of playing with rainbows and floss, texture and stitches, it was really fun to just try things out.

I used 15 different stitches: Whipped chain stitch, Chain stitch, Lazy daisy, Button hole wheel, Back stitch, Whipped spiderweb, Feather stitch, French knot, Split stitch, Herring bone and Double herring bone, Satin stitch, Bullion knots, Leaf stitch, Roumanian stitch.  I'm pretty sure I got them all.

I wish I could claim the idea as all my own but I have seen other folks make beautiful rainbow doodles before and I was inspired to try myself.  This took me about 3 weeks of off and on stitching (mostly while watching TV and drinking wine)  Wink  and was all freehand with no plan to follow other than I wanted to cycle through the colors and try a few things out.

I'm just going to hang it in the hoop on my wall, I was thinking that it may need a companion piece or two.  Wink

Feel free to C&C - they are welcome!   Smiley
There are a couple other images on my blog too~

WOW!!   Shocked Shocked Shocked  This is really, really pretty.  Really.  It is.  So much detail and eye movement.  A really fun piece to look at.

Knitting goal for 2011: knit 500,000 stitches.  24,078/500,000 knit.  I think I'm going to need more yarn...
