i've never made a quilt before, and i've never posted on craftster before! eek.
so my first friend to have a baby just had a baby, so i wanted to make something sort of special.
i sew in a somewhat slap-dash manner, so this i just sort of made up as i went along and, well, it came out how it came out. all of the squares are appliqued on with a zig-zag stitch. this quilt was inspired by a baby quilt my mom made for me when i was tiny- the "H" is for the baby's name.

here it is:

and some details:

thanks for looking!

It's lovely.  What's the significance of the squares.  Is the baby Communist?

Ha, thanks- that square is sort of joke for the baby's dad, who spent a year or so in China- the baby isn't really communist, but the parents are definitely lefties!
