I'm moving soon and I've decided that my son's 5 million toys are not all making the trip. As I was going through his Little People figures, I remembered my own ... from the Eighties. You know the ones I'm talking about. Likely choking hazards, Little People were a huge part of my childhood. So I decided to make one. A big one. A big, crocheted little person.

Here she is with a modern Little People figure for size comparison.

A view of the back

And, just for fun, here's her Britney Spears impression:

This is my first amigurumi that I've made without a pattern, so I'm fairly proud. Made with an F-hook and various acrylic yarns, she's nearly 8 inches tall. I filled the very bottom with bean bag pellets and the rest was stuffed with poly-fil. The face detail is felt and satin stitch over yarn. Thanks for looking!

I could walk into my kids' room right now and get that exact Little People!!  I kept all of mine, and now my kids play with them all of the time!  (Choking hazard and all.)  I still have the village, and recently we found the train that my hubby used to have at a rummage.  They barely play with the new style ones.

This rocks for sure!

Hah, this is awesome! I knew immediately what it was from the thumbnail. I saw it and was like "I used to play with those when I was little!"

ZOMG, I got rocked. I'd like to thank all the little people ... (I couldn't resist)

I did my best to take notes for most of it, so I could make more if I so choose, or make a pattern. I'll probably make a few more, the dog is just too cute to not make.

I wish I still had mine! I pestered my mom about them and she admitted mine have gone the way of so many old things - the house got mildewed in storage. Bummer! The old ones are totally better. Choking hazard and all.
