I made these last month and I'm really excited to share them with you guys!  It is a complete set of Space Invaders Fridge Magnets, made completely in needlepoint! There are 56 fridge magnets included in this set, enough to reconstruct an entire level of the game. Included in this set are all 50 aliens, a UFO, a laser cannon, and four bunkers.

These took me a really long time to make as they are all fully stitched by hand, felt is applied to the back to hide the stitches, and a sturdy magnet is attached to the back.

They're great for anyone who loves retro video games, like myself!  Hope you enjoy them!

This is amazing!

I have a question I have been wondering about.. did you just snip in close to the design and then use that fray stop stuff?

This is awesome.  One suggestion though:  lazer bullets.  Then it could be fully interactive!  Smiley

BRAVO!  Do you now hang out in the kitchen all the time and play with these?

thedish - I just snipped close around all of the edges and that was it.  I've made lots of different magnets in the past for different video games (Tetris, Mario, etc.) and haven't had a problem with fraying edges or anything like that!

I was thinking of making the bullets...but to make them to size, it would make for a pretty small magnet, and I don't have any magnets small enough to not be jetting out on the outside of it, so you would end up seeing the edges of the magnet itself... if I can find any magnets tiny enough (or perhaps cut a magnetic strip down to size) I will give it a shot!  It would be fun to have a couple of bullets flying around, too!  Smiley
