this is so amazing... i've been wanting to make something with squares or just different shapes crocheted together, but i'm kind of scared with sewing stuff together. when i get to the point where there's 4 squares being sewn together, that little space between all the squares... i dunno what to do. =*( how did you sew this together?

I mapped out all the pixels first, then divided it into 4 sections, like this:

I began from the bottom left section, and sewed 4 black granny squares together.  Then continued sewing the rows separately, like this:

And once I got the bottom left and right sections complete, I began sewing those separate rows together (this way, the point where the corners being sewn together won't make a gap).  And I did the same for the top half for Mario's head, and just sewed his head to his body once the two halves were complete  Smiley

I hope I explained it okay.  Basically you sew long rows of granny squares, then sew those rows together to avoid a wonky looking gap in the connecting corners of the granny squares  Cheesy

He is fantastic! I am so jealous! You should be proud of yourself if you can make something this cool shortly after learning crocheting.
