Tree by a lake

I made this for onegroovyday for the mini art quilt swap, she lives at the beach so I made her a lake. I learned alot by making this, alot of things I did right and alot I did wrong  ! There are over 1200 seed beads sewn on and the finished size is 28 x 18.


the pic doesn't show but there are tiny green seed beads is the tree scattered throughout and glass leaves sewn on.

I quilted the bark on the tree

the sun has beads and the smoke from the houses are also beads

the flowers are buttons

This is really lovely work.  I think that the embellishments of the beads look great.  Similar to that which I did on the wallhanging I put on Craftster.   Well done.  I am awaiting inspiration for my next project.  Thanks this might be pointing me in the right direction.  well done you

That is so awesome! I've been wanting to create a scene like that out of all the materials I have saved. I love all the little details such as the dragonflies and smoke coming from the chimneys...fantasti c!!

Absolutely gorgeous! But I can only imagine that the beading drove you a bit mad....It'd make me want to burn down a craft isle...lol.
