Okay, so here are a few of my in progress pics:

I also have a picture of the eight finished blocks for the first state but I figured I'll leave that out so there's some surprise!

Spoiler alert!  Skip this post if you want to be completely surprised!  Smiley

Here is Hawaii!  I haven't added the name yet, but here is a block.  I did surfers because Hawaii is a big surfing destination.  I also used two batiks: a floral & sea turtles!  I used them because I thought they looked very Hawaiian (and there is a quilt shop near me with great batiks) and since Hawaii has lots of great tropical flowers & sea turtles.  I did run out of the yellow batik, though, so a couple will have bright pink batik.

Hope you guys like it!

I love that block!  I think that it will be great with the pink batik as well!  I'm so excited!!!!

What I like about this block, is I knew exactly which state it was.  I love it and how you fussy cut the surfer.  Awesome block!

That Hawaii block is totally awesome!  And just as a final count who wants the state names on the blocks.  I know I don't... is there anyone else?

I don't really.  I won't be mad if they are but I think I want to embroider them all on so I kind of prefer if they don't have the name.  Or if they do, it's thin enough that I can embroider it on.  Wink

Yes fussy cutting is how I ran out of surfer fabric lol.  There are different surfers on the fabric but I got all the big ones for the center pieces.
