Well, with all this new fabric I've been buying I figured I had better find a quick way to get rid of some of my stash...a simple pillowcase dress with applique.. Cheesy

I love that.  The pillow case dresses are so cute.  I'm going to show my lack of sewing know how by asking this but do you have a pattern you use?

Really nice dress!

I will have to make something like it myself.

Where did you buy the fabric?

Anyone wanna help a good cause and buy a sonography class cookbook so I can go to a seminar in September? They are $15 alone, and $20 with handmade potholders. PM me!

Pattern was MCcalls 5797 but any pillowcase pattern will do. There are lots of free ones out there as well. I didn't turn my bottom fabric in half like the pattern called for because I wanted more contrast and not so much weight along the bottom.

Love the dress and the pink fabric! Must shop Wally World for that pink fabric (if I can even find one that still has fabric).

I love these style dresses too, the best thing, when the little girls get a little bigger, they turn into shirts!

There are many different tutorials out there, for all the different variations.  This one, http://www.aroomsomewhere.net/2007/07/pillowcase-dress-tutorial.html ,  is similar to how I do the ones I make, except I make my own matching or coordinating  bias tape for around the armholes.
