That's wickedly awesome. Seems a trip to the mum's might be in order soon...

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

I love what you did with it! I remember sitting there for silhouettes at Disneyland and thinking it took an ETERNITY! I also thought that all the noses looked the same on every silhouette.

We don't live anywhere close to Disneyland and my girls are 2 so sitting still isn't an artform we've mastered yet. However, I do know that you can turn a profile into a silhouette very easily in Photoshop. I was thinking about doing this, and now I've got some serious inspiration from yours to get it done!

Thanks, your piece is gorgeous!

Thanks!  The photoshop idea is great.

I have also seen a tutorial somewhere where you just take pictures of the profile that you want, develop them, then cut it out and use it as a template and cut the silhouette out of card stock.  Photoshop would be easier though.  Grin
We should totally put this over on the craft-along-thread!

I really like how this turned out. The original looks really boring before you added all the character to it.

What a gorgeous silhouette! I've always love silhouettes (and yes, of course, my parents made me sit through one as well), but I agree that they're just a bit bland. I wonder how well this would work on inkjet printable fabrics. Hmm... Definitely a very inspiring post! Thanks for sharing all your steps, too.
