I made a few sets of these little hair doodads, some to give away, one set so far for me Cheesy

I just love the contrast of that bright red bead and the black beads, especially as the black beads have a nice irridescent shimmer to them too.

I really like these, I am new to beading and have been wanting to try these, now you have inspired me to do so.  I would have a hard time letting go of these when I did make them.  I am also a "one for you, one for me" craftster.  LOL Great Job. Grin

Those are lovely and will make beautiful hair accessories!
Might I ask how you finished the back? I made several flowers like this but never used them for anything because I coudn't figure out how to finish them. They had several  wires but they were all a very fine gauge and I was afraid they would break. Did you wire your petals separately and then join them together?

Nice job, I especially like the black and red one.

These do not have wire in them, so the backs are quite smooth.  They are off-loom woven using Nymo, in brick stitch.  What I do is I knot the thread between the beads, and when it is pulled taut, it is hidden.  Repeat several times to secure, then hide the end of the thread by weaving back through the beads.  I just glued the flowers to the barrette with some E6000.  I actually had a glue I would have preferred using more, but unfortunately could not find it.

I really admire people who have the patience to stitch/weave with seed beads and thread rather than wire. They're so neat and pretty!

LOL - maybe it speaks to that mildly OCD side of me - that I like to see the beads lining up so neatly?
