I had purchased those little card stock type of puzzles for the swap--the pieces were so small!  However, they are not going to go to waste...I am going to decorate them and then use them to make much needed notecards for myself!

I like the bigger pieced puzzles to work on better!

yay alwaysinmyroom! Can't wait to see them, I am addicted, and have started on one for myself.
Oh! and I just wanted to say, my favorite piece from my puzzle above is the piece that has red crayon marks on it, that is a "project" dd brought home from daycare, but our house is overflowing with them. I was trying to find a way to save them all without having tons and tons of piles of coloring book pages everywhere, and I think I might have to make a whole puzzle from just parts of her projects too.
What a brilliant idea!

wow--a puzzle with your child's art would be a wonderful memory of her creative childhood!  It would be nice to be able to date the back of each piece as well!

Thanks everyone for the input! I have started it, and it is a lot of fun. I can only work on it after dd goes to bed, she's not a big fan of me cutting up her pics. I still feel a little bad about it, but I keep reminding myself I cannot save every single coloring page she brings home. lol, she brings home sometimes 3 or 4 a day!

I've been quiet lately because school requires much of my free time! Thanks for missing me.

If anyone is looking for some puzzles, I have 3-4 I'm looking to get rid of so PM me! I thought about trying this, but I think I'll stick with the ATC that I just started doing.

I literally just sat and looked through this entire thread (even though I should be studying for my finals...shh!) I'm in awe of you all, and am totally going to try this when I get back home from school.  I think this is something my mom and I could easily get into together. We both love puzzles and have both been wanting to get into altered art and papercrafting, so this would be a fabulous bonding project for the two of us. It probably won't have a theme, besides being a stuff-we-like puzzle. Smiley

I'm sure we have plenty of old kid's puzzles lying around the house, so as soon as we get settled into it, I'll start posting pictures.

Thank you all for being so inspiring!

This thread's been might quiet for half a year! But I want to share the ocean-themed puzzle I made for TheSapphireMoon, now that she's received it --

It's one of those 24-piece dollar store ones, with the top image layer removed. There are lots of 3-dimensional embellishments that are fairly hard to see. Here are some detail shots--

It was such fun to make! I'm all out of ocean-related ephemera now, but I'm glad I got to use so much of it!
