Here's the improved solar cooker my husband made from an old sand-blasting cabinet, a political sign, a mylar blanket, and some aluminum duct tape:

Solar lasagna:

Solar pot roast:

Here's a link to a page of solar cooker plans:

My first solar cooker was the Minimum Box Cooker, which worked somewhat but didn't really get hot enough:  http://solarcooking.wikia.com/wiki/Minimum_Solar_Box_Cooker

Thanks!  It's been a lot of fun cooking this way.  Very easy, like using a slow cooker.  You just put everything in the pan, put it in the cooker, and leave it all day.  I do have to slightly move the cooker every hour or two to follow the sun, though I've seen instructions that say you can just point it toward where the sun will be in the middle of the day and get ok results, if you're not home all day.

I need to figure out what to make next...

That's so cool! It's been so hot here it feels like I could just put the lasagna out and it would cook.  Roll Eyes It reminds me of Sunday's Red & Rover comic.

What an amazing thing Smiley  I wonder if something like that would be practical to take camping?

This is so clever - I've never seen anything quite like that! How long does it take to cook?

I love your design.  This is on my list of projects to do this year.  I wish I had it done already, cuz it would be better than cooking in a hot house.

Nice job .
