I made this afghan AGES ago.... actually finished it 3 days before 9/11/01 but only getting around to taking photos for y'all now since I had it out for the 4th of July.  Wink  I got the pattern from a book (something like 12 months of afghans... I can pull out the exact info if anyone's interested in searching it out though). IIRC, it took me about 2 weeks to do. It was pretty much non-stop crocheting every chance I got, only way I finished it so quickly.

It's very large... can cover my queen-sized bed from top to bottom and maybe 6" clearance on both sides.

The kitties LOVE snuggling on it underneath the chair here and when I used to have it on my bed.

ETA - link to pattern for sale!

This is amazing! I know you said it fits a queen bed with clearance, but do you have the exact dimensions? Also, how hard do you think it would be to adapt it to a smaller size? I think my Aunt would really love something like this since she collects a lot of Americana items.

That's just lovely.  I've made an American Flag and a Confederate Flag ,  but I think I like your afghan better!

That's fabulous. I hope to become this good at crocheting, as I just learned while I was in New Jersey.

Man, that afghan is the size of your queen size bed? That's insane. You must of had some major callouses after 2 weeks of crocheting. I feel bad for your poor fingers. Hehe.

Not hard at all. I made a baby afghan sized one for my cousin shortly after this one. My grandmother used it to wrap the baby up in when they visited the VA one day and got LOADS of compliments. Instead of using 6 rows of dc for the stripes, I only used 3 and I want to say it only had 7 or 9 stars?? I don't have any pics of it though... I'm not even sure they still have it.

I'll have to get back to you on dimensions in a bit, my tape measure is off hiding....

ETA - it measures 54" W X 90" L
