I was kinda crunched for time to make this for my niece's birthday party this past weekend, so that part sucked (I hate being rushed on crafts... but it inevitably always happens  Roll Eyes ).

So anyways, here's my first poppet. I'm hoping to make quite a few more for other gifts and eventually a few for myself. She didn't get a name from the birthday girl before I left and she got distracted by cake so I'm not sure if she really liked her or not.... but I think she's cute enough.  Smiley

She has a natural predisposition to crossing her legs strangely enough... such a proper poppet!

And of course, the obligatory helper kitty shot:

I made a couple mistakes but they're not really noticeable. I need to practice more with the jointing and actually having a lot more materials on hand (freezer paper, glue, floss, etc) but overall, I think she's cute and I can't wait to have my own.  Grin

Well, I did sew her face on upside down the first time. She looked a lot like yoda for about 5 minutes. Cheesy

I sewed the back of one of Ghilie's babies for the swap (the head part) upside down. I almost sewed a boobie poppet with the wrong sides together today. LOL, It happens, but my first was a disaster.  Make an investment is a lot of pairs of seam rippers. I think the poppets hide them because they don't like surgery.

That is an excellent first poppet and excellent overall poppet.  I really love the yarn you used for the hair.

She turned out very well. A lot of detail for a little poppet. how exactly did you get the eyes to stay in? I've always been curious when I see eyes like that. The yarn hair does look very nice.
