I've been dying to have a go at some of these but messing around with epoxy put me off a bit...I'm notoriously bad at dealing with noxious substances and often spill stuff! I asked on here what else I could use and people suggested PVA glue....so I used that and drizzled them with clear nail polish afterwards...the pics are from a vintage kids book...part of the book was badly damaged so I could chop it up guilt free!

I just made a bunch of these with my nephews the other day.
There was no way I was going to attempt resin with them; they are monsters. Cute, but monsters.
We filled them with hot glue.
Silly, but it worked for them.
I like the nail polish idea though.

So cute!!! I have no idea what PVA glue is, but I've been terrified to try anything with epoxy or resin or anything like that. I want to though, because I have a ton of bottlecaps lying around and the projects end up so darn adorable. The little bird is my favorite from this set.

I have a lot of beer caps that I brought home from New Jersey. (I wasn't drinking, I was the crazy one picking them up off the tables!) Thanks for the cute idea. Smiley

Thanks! PVA glue is I think like your Elmo's glue...the white stuff that kids use...it dries clear. The nail polish gives it a nicer finish....I drizzle it on in a well ventilated room and it takes a night to dry....I think I might have to make more as they're so addictive! Cheesy

So, I have another question-did you fill the caps with the glue/nail polish or just enough to cover the pictures?

Hey KiwiDragons...I just watered down the PVA a bit...then a blobbed a bit on the pic that was maybe half the soze of the pic...then smoothed it with my finger...waited til it was dry...then I tipped about 2 or 3 mils of clear polish on top....not filled...but well covered. It smells really strong so I left mine to dry in the kitchen with the doors shut and the windows open. They're nice and shiny and once dry, they feel quite tough.

Cool. Thanks so much for the tips! I hope I can try this out. When I go out this weekend I'm going to look for some of that glue.
