Dragon Con.

What's Dragon Con? IT SOUNDS AWESOME.

It is awesome! It's a huge huge nerd convention that takes up four convention hotels in Atlanta every labor day weekend. Tens of thousands of geeks in one place! Pretty much every fandom is represented and there are lots of spectacular costumes. This will be my third time, but my first time going as a vendor - the comic and game store I work for will have a booth this year.

Crafts make us feel rooted, give us a sense of belonging and connect us with our history.  Our ancestors used to create these crafts out of necessity, and now we do them for fun... to express ourselves.

Hopefully. I at least get to go to the con for free and get free lodging. (That's a couple hundred right there!) But I only get paid if we do well.

Huzzah for extra time since I guess I lied about sending early =P  My brothers came home and work decided to overload me, so very little time for crafting, but oh so close to being done!

I made a trip to the bookstore and picked up the books today.  I hoped to finish up tomorrow but I may have another project to awesome to resist.

On a semi off topic note, I found the most hilarious drawing/note used as a bookmark at work (I am a librarian and find the strangest things used for them....seriously you have no idea!)  It was a drawing with a note on a little piece of paper from a spiral notepad.  The drawing, stick figures, shows one boy holding a small rectangle, an equal sign and another boy dressed as a ninja throwing a ninja star.  Below this drawing is written "This is what happens when you steal my bookmark!"
