Details of swap:
From past swaps: "*So we are a sickly crew, and when illnesses and diseases flare up, it is not fun. Heck, the day to day of it isn't fun. So let's bond together to make the best of the situation."
Because day to day dealing with these sorts of diseases are hectic enough, this swap has a small point minimum of 4 points and a longer crafting time. Early senders and extras won't be persecuted, of course, but the point of this is to take a break from the bad parts of dealing with our illnesses and getting to have some fun with fellow crafters who understand what it's like. I'd also like to encourage crafty parents of kids dealing with these things to join, because they're dealing with it in the same boat as the rest of us!
There are a lot of things you could craft, not just bags for holding medical supplies. For diabetes alone, there are so many crafts you could do extolling the virtues of synthetic insulin, chastising a lazy pancreas or making pretty altered log books for keeping track of food and glucose levels. The chances for some awesome subversive crafting are high, because the best thing for being sick is a wry sense of humor and crafting supplies, amirite? C'mon sickos - we gotta stick together! Let's make each other some great stuff. Sick day care kits/survival kits are also a huge chance for some fun. Please please please
communicate with your partner. That's one of the most important things for making this swap a success, and you may even gain a new friend from it. Also, some people may not be open to the same sort of humor as you are about their illness. Talking with your partner will help to ensure that no one gets their feelings hurt or is offended by anything they receive.
