I'm sure I've seen swaps in which you make an item for someone that doesn't have that crafty ability, swapping soapmaking for knitting, sewing for woodburning, etc.

Where my idea differs is after you get the crafter with the ability you need, you mail them the supplies for the thing you want. you want a crocheted hat, you mail them yarn in the perfect colour to match your jacket, they mail you back a hat. you want a jewellry set, you mail them a bunch of beautiful beads you saw.

Of course there'd be a need for strong communication, primarily to know how much of a certain supply they'd need. buying five beads and expecting a necklace isn't appropriate. you can also talk with them about if every supply needs to be bought, if the creating partner wants you to get the thread for your new skirt, or if it's okay to just get the fabric and zipper.

thoughts?

I'm not attached to your world, nothing heals, nothing grows... we used to love ourselves, we used to love one another.

life is no cabaret- we don't care what you say, we're inviting you anyway, you mf'ers, you'll sing someday!
