I typically have no patience when it comes to drawing but occasionally I will get the urge to give it a try.  For one of these urges this is what I came up with:


This is a carving in a cypress knee that my grandmother had bought my father on one of her trips to California. It is drawn in white pencil on gray-blue paper.   


Close up of face to show detail.

It could probably use some more work in the shading but I am afraid of ruining it.  What do you think?

I think it looks spectacular.  I've never tried drawing with white on colored paper, and I admire anyone who has the guts to try.  Great job.
