Ok so I love me some astronomy! I really want to be an astronomer when I grow up! I've been collecting every space themed fabric I can find and I really really wanted to do a panneled skirt with it and I finally got my but in gear and made it today!, or like an hour ago! It's awesome, and I'm very happy because I didn't have to do any resizing or anything like that because I have an elastic waist band. From now on ALL skirt I make must be elastic waist, I guess I'll have to buy more elastic!

Thanks for looking! What do you think?

That's pretty cool! Cheesy It reminds me of Mrs. Frizzle (y'know, off the magic school bus?) But in a good way of course. Wink

Elastic is pretty much the greatest thing invented.

Oh, I love this. The skirt definitely fills a gap in astronomy type crafts.  I was named after a constellation, one of my brother's name is Sagan and my other brother is an honest to goodness astrophysicist who does a lot of work at Kit Peak and the University of Arizona. Needless to say, this is right up my alley and getting wisted!

I'm starting my physics PhD this year, but I spent the last three years doing astrophysics, so I definitely approve of your skirt. Where did you get the constellation fabric? I haven't seen that before.

I'm sure you're aware of http://equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_main.html?catid=122&sid=93LKiA2DlCTcCYH-57109485348.90, but I thought I'd point it out in case you weren't.

What sort of astronomy do you want to do?

I found the constellation fabric at a garage sale! It was such a lucky find, and I've never seen it anywhere else!

I was no aware of all of those different fabrics! THanks for the link! I wisted a few of them.

I really don't know what kind of astromomy I want to do, I've just been so interested in space/stars/the universe since I was a little kid, and astronomy is one of the only things I've been interested in for so long. I think I'll just start out with a basic over view of astronomy in college, and then once I've learned a few different types I'll narrow it down to a more specific form. Roll Eyes I know I've always wanted to be some kind of scientist, and I also love physics, and chemistry, but I'm not a fan at all of biology!
