I discovered these tonight and I am having so much fun, it's almost criminal.

First try!

Second try!

The second one's maybe a bit too representational to be properly zen. But whatevs. I'm going to use these for the journal I'm making for my sister, because they turned out a lot cuter than I thought they would!

ETA: Third Zendala!

Those are awesome.  I would image that if you copied them they'd be a lot of fun to color in various ways!   Cheesy  I love both of them!

These are awesome! I want to know how you do them too.  They seem cathartic even if I don't draw.  Grin

Thanks for the replies! These are so simple - I just grabbed an Ikea tealight-holder and drew round it with a pen then portioned up the image with some wavy lines (using a couple of different sizes of pigment pens, the rabbits were done with 05 and 01 size). No pre-drawing was done - you just go for it!

There's a video tute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4Nlz4XMxcs

I think I might try some long shapes next - Zenstrips?

I've seen a few of these on here, and while I've liked most of them, I think yours are the closest to what mine would look like if I were to make some.. In other words, I think we have a similar creativity, and that's cool. Tongue

Plus, they're very well-done and so cute! <3

Oh my, yours are lovely. I just discovered zentangles too but my first was just globs of nothingness, yours resemble actual pictures. Nice work!

I don't fit in a box, round hole, or any slot that you want to put me in. I am unique, intelligent, funny, passionate, beautiful, spirited and kind. I'm a lover, not a fighter, but will fight when pushed too far. I'm a puzzle it might take you years to figure out, if you can. I am an enigma.

Those are awesome. I love the bunnies, it makes me smile every time I look at it.
And the little mice on the third one are very cute too Smiley
I now have zen scribbles on my scrap paper that holds my lists. I should go get me some nice markers...

These are amazing!  Your sister is going to love these.  They remind me of some pen and ink drawings I did in high school, but yours are WAY better.  Thanks for sharing!
