I just completed the Fantasy, Fairy Tales, Faires and Folklore swap and this was the project I made. I loved this design from the minute I laid eyes on it. I just needed an excuse to work it up. Fortunately my partner was not only a fairy afficianado as well, but she had the patience of Job, waiting for me to finish this up and get it to her.

So, without further ado, here are the pics:

Here is the picture my partner took of the framed piece.

And here's a close up of the stitching.

For those interested in the technical details, the fairies are cross stitched and the background within the border is done in half stitiches of blue and very light blue on white cloth.

I thnk it came out pretty good considering the limited time I had to work it up. It usually takes me months to do a design of this detail. I finished this in a little over a month.

Thanks everyone.  Smiley

I really liked this pattern. It's not often I see a project I want to do for myself but this was just such a project. Unfortunately I can't justify putting in the time to make something for myself, there are so many things I want to make for other people, and I love giving my work as gifts. It's such a fun thing to match the project to the person.
