For some reason this is much more nasty to me than the dog hair one.  Smiley  Who do you give these to?

Eww. This made my stomach turn.  Lips sealed And then I cracked up.  Cheesy Nice work. I think this is the desired effect, no? Gross out and then crack up. I want to play with resin now! Is it an expensive hobby? I know nothing about it except you can do really cool stuff.

Someone bought the dog hair one on ebay and this one I'm going to keep.  I actually have an order for another dog hair one... LOL.   I also have a friend that wants one with her dog's hair.  I really just made them for myself at first and just as a kinda joke to show my family/guests but if people want them...I like playing with resin so it's all good. LOL

Resin itself is pretty expensive.  At Micheals, it's $30 for a 32 oz container.  I always use a 40% off coupon so that helps a bit.  I figured that one of these spoon rest uses 3 oz, so not too bad....  The molds are like $5 online.  If you make your own they end up being a little cheaper but alot more work to actually make it (kinda worth just paying the $5 in my opinion!).

Love these but have to say this one actually made me gag. Damn my mouth is still watering with that pre vomit flow. hee hee
These really are fantastic.

I had to laugh about your story. If you ever get to the point where you don't want to save them.....you can always burn them or flush them. The idea behind not letting a witch get a hold of them has a small amount of merit. If you do a spell to harm or control someone (like a love spell) you want some of her hair or a nail clipping. Thus the old tale that you heard. However since we don't live in small villiages where everone knows everyone chances of a witch hanging around your trash bin waiting for your clippings is probably pretty small I am thinkin' Wink

However good thing you did save up all those clippings because you got to make this gross ass thing. Smiley

You have totally cracked me up, I cant wait to see what you do next. I still want a pube soap dish now. hee hee

Wow...this is totally icky.  I don't think I'd be able to use it as a spoon rest...would freak me out too much!  Really neat idea, though! Smiley

Makes me think of an embroidery project that a professor showed our class in college - the artist used fingernails and satin stitched them onto the cloth.  That really made me want to gag then, and so does this now!

These spoon rests are very creative--- but EWW!

Anyway, my mom's second husband's family all saved their fingernails and toenails, too!

They had a special jar for them.  Their superstition was that after you die, you can not get into the afterlife until you bring all your parts with you.  So, you would have to fly the earth in search of all your toenails before you could get into heaven!!  By keeping them in the jar, you just made it easier on yourself!

Now, I don't know how this superstition applies to haircuts!! Cheesy But, there you go, I guess they don't have to totally make sense!!  Cheesy

His family was from Louisiana and they had some other interesting superstitions including some that related to voodoo.
