So I'm going for some crazy mash up of steampunk and lolita fashion sensibilities. This outfit is fairly well both, but needs a head dress of some sort that doesn't clash with the french braided mohawk. I'm thinking I'd like to go with maybe a fascinator or a silk rose or something. Feedback is definitely appreciated.

I'd do something off to the side with long feathers pointing backwards- it'd help to balance out the poofy of the skirt! I'd also stick some little gears in it if you could. Great drawing, looks like fun!

I've had the same problem and I think I'm going to just make a tiny hat out of scraps of Velvet I have, A tiny top hat might look cool? I'll watch this too though just in case someone has any mind blowing Ideas.

A fascinator is like a little decorative hat that's usually worn to the side and has feathers or lace or tulle and attaches with a clip.

perhaps something like this?

or this?

or maybe a smaller version of this?

I think it's definitely decided on a fascinator then. Probly with a silk rose, a gear or two and some feathers.

Great drawing. I think a fascinator would work wonderfully, for you and for something I'm making. Thanks for the idea.

First of all, the design is awesome. can't wait to see completed pix! secondly, I like the fascinator/minihat idea, with feathers arching backward parallel to the mohawk. I also like the idea of a veil kind of sneaking sideways over the mohawk (i love the look of intricate hairstyles under tulle.) And definitely some gears in there.

So is this a cut mohawk or just an inside out french braid? (great idea. I'd tease the strands before braiding to make it poufier.)
