so i am used to eating flavored yogurt as a snack, dessert, whatever, but lately i've discovered an entire new range of uses for plain yogurt. everyone has probably made that dip from knorr vegetable soup mix, right? well, instead of using sour cream, or heaven forbid, mayonnaise!, i've been using lowfat plain yogurt. it tastes exactly the same to me, and it's sooo freaking healthy (especially if i eat it with broccoli instead of chips, hehe). i also drained the whey from the yogurt using a coffee filter to make a thicker yogurt, and have used that as the base for dips and sauces instead of sour cream, cream cheese, etc. some easy dips i've made in the past are a tomatillo sauce (just adding garlic/s&p/+tomatillos to sour cream), avocado dip (same idea). today i'm making a sweet dip today for my strawberries from the yogurt "cheese" i made by adding honey and cinnamon to it. if anyone has any other recipes for good yogurt dips, let me know!

Not a dip but really good.

Peel and cut yams, toss with olive oil, pepper, nutmeg and fresh dill. Roast in oven.  Toss with plain yogurt and lime juice.
