Okay so to make a short story long  Roll Eyes we are going to the Peter Pan Treasure Hunt in Kensington Gardens in London this weekend and I thought it would be cute for my little girl to dress up. So I made this outfit but Im not sure about it. I want your guys' opinions, do you think its boring? I wanted it to be true to the character, but now Im afraid its kinda plain. Her hair will be done up in a bun with a side part and she'll be wearing black ballet flats, (because she wont let me paint them green! lol) Oh and Im going to put jingle bells on her somewhere so she makes the Tinkerbell sound too. What do you think?

It is a super cute costume! You don't want to over complicate it because its a simple outfit to begin with.

I'll start by saying it looks adorable! If it were me, though, I would:
1. Replace the white straps with flesh colored ones.
2. I would also make the waist go in just a touch more.

*And don't forget the Pom Poms on her shoes!!

Im so jealous of your outing, sounds like a blast!!

I think it is fantastic the way it is!  If she is going to be doing a lot of running around and such, it's waaaay better for the outfit to a bit more simple so she has room to move and doesn't feel restricted!

I think the white stripes are fine because flesh coulured wouldn't look so good at the back

GLITTER!!! I think that they make a spray glitter for fabric.A light dusting of some spray glitter would make her sparkle!!!

I think it is adorable, but a little glitter or pixie dust, wouldn't hurt.   Grin

Thanks for your replies guys! Yes I forgot to mention the glitter, she'll be all kinds of glittery! Also if any of you are around London this weekend you should go to the Treasure Hunt. All the proceeds go to the Children's Hospital so it's a great cause!

Sounds like a fun event!

I like the simplicity of it. It fits the part without being OTT. If she won't let you paint the ballet pumps, then tacking or clipping on a green pom pom will be fun and just help to tie it together.

what about adding tiny little bells to the end of eack point on the skirt? or would that be too jingly?

she looks happy and comfortable in it though. Is there anyway you could make a little white of green cardi in a matching fabirc so that if it gets chilly she can keep warm and still be Tinkerbell?

glitter! lots of glitter. A girl can never be too sparkly.

My first reaction to seeing this post, before I'd even read your message, was that the outfit was just perfect. Your daughter looks happy and comfortable in it, and I love the wings. I wouldn't change a thing Smiley
