Your bedroom is beautiful (and I love that you organize your books by color), but your story was priceless. Best story telling I've read yet on Craftster.

And as the previous owner of a 150 year old home, I feel your pain. Our next house was only 50 years old and had already been massively remodeled when we purchased it. Grin

You guys did a great job, AND you've got a great story by the way!!
You definitely have an eye for decorating and the outcome is stunning.

I love the color you chose for your bedroom, I'm looking for something similar, mind sharing the brand and color of your paint?  Thanks!!

your clean new room has me inspired to clean and organize my room. i'm also curious as to what happened to to tile. my first thought was "oh! harvest!" as in, i would have had the crowbar to those beauties in a flash.

this makes me miss my first home. it was a 100 year old "fixer" but it turns out so great. we ripped up floor and refinished them. stripped doors and wallpaper and painted. took about a year but worth every second. we had to move when the neighborhood started to decline or we would still be there. you are very lucky.

That tile looks like a hearth and the shape on the wall above it a fireplace.
